Configuring a Third-Party API in Hermes

Use this after downloading the Hermes installer, or when configuring Hermes again.

If you have already configured OpenClaw, you can quickly import that configuration. Enter y to agree, or n to continue with normal configuration.

For normal configuration, choose Quick Install by selecting 1.

On the provider selection screen, choose option 37: Third-party provider.

Then enter the URL, the API key (this input is encrypted, so the content will not be displayed, but it is actually entered), and the model name you want to use. Let Hermes automatically detect the model context length; you do not need to fill it in manually, just press Enter. Then enter a display name (you can enter anything, or press Enter to use the default).

It will then ask whether you want to connect to a messaging platform. Select 2 here to skip it.

After that, the Hermes configuration is complete. You can reopen the PowerShell window and enter hermes to bring up the chat window.
